Dave Mustaine Now Refuses to Be Asked ANY Question About Metallica

Even if it’s a soft toss question about a festival tour of the Big Four: Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer.
It was a question asked in a recent interview with Metal Insider. Mustaine (in a photo, above, in better beer days with Hetfield) wouldn’t bite — well, kind of:
You know, there’s no way to answer any questions about METALLICA for me. If I answer them politely, I get reamed. If I answer them funny, I get reamed. If I say something like when I said I believed my record was better than theirs, and even in that comment I said that they’ve got plenty of records that are better than anything that I’ve done, except this one… And for once it’s nice to be on the opposite side. That was taken apart. “I think my record’s better than theirs.” Well, you didnt finish the sentence, you twat. I have no desire to answer any questions, at all, about METALLICA. If something comes up, you’ll know, but as far as I’m concerned, I can’t say anything about those guys, and I won’t.
Will the Metallica questions keep coming? Should they stop coming, even if Mustaine requests it? Not sure that’s solid music journalism.

Yeah, well we all know that Dave likes/liked to run his mouth. I don’t blame him though -I am sure most peeps take what he says out of context a lot and milk it into some cheap headlines 2010-style.
on the other hand, he has said some shocking things (haven’t we all) and snide remarks over the years, but he’s famous and so he get’s ran through the “ringer” for it.
I say EVERYBODY just shut the hell up and enjoy their music and be glad that he is still around and can wail on the GTR still.
How’s that?
for all of the rumor starters/shit-talkers: go actually LISTEN to some music VS talking crap about it or seeding rumors like some A.D.D. poster-child!
*that’s a cool pic Pat – where did ya’ dig that one up? I like that old VENOM shirt Dave is wearing.

Well, yes VENOM is always cited as an early influence to all of the BIG 4 or BIG 5 here in the states. Raven, Anvil, Tank and Motorhead were also there earl on.
Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax somehow took the crown.
I think EXODUS would be right up there but they stayed “underground” and Paul B.’s”vox” turned a lot of people off. OVERKILL, VOIVOD and CELTIC FROST was right up there for being influential and do not get credit for helping start the scene.
A lot of those bands came up/out in the 2nd wave such as: Testament, Heathen, Death Angel, Flotsam & Jetsam etc.
Remember how “good” a band is not dictated by how “popular” they sometimes. example Chicago’s TROUBLE. amazing band but still under the radar for most people after 25 years.
Nice post.
You might want to peep my 80′s Metal blog if you are into that scene…

I think, twenty years later, Rust In Peace is a better album than . . .And Justice For All. I wrote an over-simplified. personal account of my decision here: http://pirategeorge.wordpress.com/2010/02/09/the-first-cut-rust-in-peace-and-justice-for-all/#more-110
Would he answer just one question? “Are you glad I like your album better?” Ok, two. . . “doesn’t Trujillo look kinda silly up there?”

its 2010 now. as if 30 years of feuding with metallica isn’t enough. what more is there to be asked about metallica and dave after 30 years. honestly who is still obsessed with this feud.
