What to Make of the Show “One Night of Queen”

This is how the show is promoted (and view video below) and it will be at a theater close to where I live:

One Night of Queen is a stunning live concert recreating and celebrating the music of Queen. Performed by Gary Mullen and ‘The Works,’ this show’s fantastic staging, lighting and effects will rock you – guaranteed.  Since winning the Grand Final of ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ back in 2000, as the legendary Freddie Mercury, Mullen has toured with One Night of Queen, selling out theatres and concert halls in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Holland, France, New Zealand, and now the USA.

I’m not sure what to make of this. Being such a fan of Freddie Mercury, truthfully, it kind of freaks me out… this Gary Mullen guy (above) imitating Freddie. But at the same time, I guess it’s a nice tribute. I’ve seen other tribute bands and have enjoyed them. Torn if I should check it out or not.

It can’t be any worse than seeing some of the remaining members of Queen on American Idol. That was an all-time low.

  1. I prefer the Paul Rodgers line-up.
