Jimmy Page and Robert Plant Pay Their Respects to Rock Drummer, Michael Lee
Drummer Michael Lee‘s passing (Nov. 24) was taken hard by many in the rock world. He played with such heavyweight bands as Thin Lizzy, Aerosmith, Guns ‘N’ Roses, and, notably, Page and Plant. Also, The Cult, Little Angels, The Quireboys, Echo and The Bunnymen, Bon Jovi, Lenny Kravitz and many more.
And Jimmy Page, once literally seen as a hermit, came to the funeral to pay his respects (above, and you can actually buy this image here).
Robert Plant also paid his respects by floral arrangements. The card read:
“What a waste. Too soon. I’m so sorry, I always enjoyed your enthusiasm and ideas. Robert P”.
“What a waste” may not be seen as the most elegant words by some people, but it does show not only Robert’s heartfelt sympathy but also his anger at losing a friend so young (reportedly, 39).
No floral arrangement, nor card, from Axl Rose has been mentioned by the press.
Page is aging graciously, but looking his years nonetheless.
Michael Lee’s obituary can be read here. RIP

Wow, you weren’t kidding about the image being for sale. He should have worn his dragon overalls from the 70s.
Plant and Krauss were nominated for a Grammy.

Someone should tell Jimmy Page that it’s alright to age. How long is he going to milk the turkey? Nobody’s down with age, just down with some old geezer going through the motions. Did you not see him play “Guitar Hero” at Olympic closing ceremony?
