Steven Adler’s Plea to Axl Rose: Let Me Back In Guns N’ Roses
Steven Adler is trying his hardest to be sober. You can see that on VH1, you can read it on the blogs… We all hope he succeeds.
Adler’s dream is to make it back into Guns N’ Roses as their drummer. His lawyer straight-talked the media recently:
“When he gets sober they’ll (Guns N Roses) accept him into the band and then they’ll do a comeback album and a world tour – that’s the dream of Steven Adler.”
Adler was kicked out in 1990, and when you are kicked out of a L.A. band for a drug problem that says A LOT.
And that was 18 years ago. A lot of time has passed and Adler is still struggling with drugs. Even though I am rooting for the guy to stay sober, it seems highly unlikely that Axl would take a risk on Steven Adler, especially when he finally got his band to release Chinese Democracy. Axl knows it is time to prove to the world again that Guns N’ Roses is a force in contemporary music and means something (even people who live and breathe GNR — like Guns N’ Roses tribute bands — are skeptical of the new music being a hit). He can’t afford to take any more risks. Everything depends on how well Chinese Democracy, and its tour, does. Steven Adler, whether sober or not, will only be a distraction.
It’s sad to say, but Steven needs to move on. Right now. Staying straight isn’t the only battle he has to fight. Breaking his obsession with Guns N’ Roses is another tough battle for him to really win.

Steven Adler doesn’t need to be in GNR anymore. They haven’t rocked a hard album since 91, and they haven’t put on a great live tour in a while either. I love Guns N’ Roses. Not this Chinese Democracy mess though. Read the blog, know the respect I pay.

Never happen……He would have to prove himself for many years soberly…without getting sober for this purpose…and while the original Guns and Roses in my opinion was MAGIC…to reunite would be too much stirring up old wounds ect….and poss… be really destructive for some such as Adler. Axl is fantastic Slash is fantastic on their own…true not the same as before…….but can’t see what they’d get out of it…besides $$$…and only if they could all get along???!!!LOL

……Besides, it still 1st off is a business…how could “they” reunite with Adler even right now in Rehab? Impossible…no ones fault…just REALITY…. All the best wishes to Steven…but…seems like his issues never end as I am sure with lots of people….so to set up a come back sort of thing would be like setting up a disaster round 2 . No one needs that drama!Steven seems to just keep wanting to relive his teenage hey days over over and over again…where as the others more soberly now are just continuing their careers.

I recently just opened up for Steven’s new band “Adlers Appetite”. I’m 21 years old and to have a “rock god” tell me I was a natural meant the whole world to me. I think Steven Adler is very happy without GNR, it’s just human nature to want to be back in something that was so big. Most respect to Steven Adler and I hope him the best. He changed the way I thought about playing drums and performing live. Thanks.

I used to really love Steven Adler when he was in Guns n Roses, although I was 14 at the time..I’m now 32..!! He’s still gorgeous..!!

love u steven. always did. with or without GNR. you make YOU happy. i’m going thru similar shit. it sucks . it’s hard. surround yourself with positive people. that’s what i’m doing. drugs and alcohol messed my life up. i feel for you.
don;t ever forget you are special (talent wise) and you are loved…. and still gorgeous! i hope you make peace with yourself. i need to do the same. best of luck to you. much love….btw, GNR was the best WITH YOU!!!!!!!!
