Powerline A.D.’s Review Of The Enemy’s New York City Show Is Now Online

A review of The Enemy’s spectacular show this past Monday night, August 11th, at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom is now available on the main Powerline A.D. site at http://www.powerlinead.com/live.

The Enemy (pictured above, left to right) are bassist/backing vocalist Andy Hopkins, drummer Liam Watts, and guitarist/lead vocalist Tom Clarke. They have just finished a brief tour of America to promote the US release of their debut album, We’ll Live And Die In These Towns.

The Enemy’s live show is pretty incredible. It was the best concert I’ve seen thus far in 2008.

The other reason that “Too Much Too Young” was played was because The Specials were also from Coventry. And I’d venture to say that Clarke’s lyrics are reminscent of Terry Hall’s, and with maybe even a dash of Paul Weller. I see “We’ll Live And Die In These Towns” sitting comfortably alongside The Specials’ “Ghost Town” and The Jam’s “A Town Called Malice”.
