Massive Attack Say Obama Won’t Win Anyway
It’s bad enough having to hear all the pundits and other talking heads spin their various political theories, but sometimes it’s just as painful to hear celebrities and musicians pontificate. And it’s especially hard for Americans to listen when those opinions are from Brits.
Massive Attack came out to the British press and declared that Barack Obama has no chance of winning the presidential race, even though they support the Senator from Illinois.
Marshall Grant told Guardian U.K., flat out:
“There’s no way the people with real power will let a black man run for President.”
It’s that why-bother? attitude that will bring social progress to a screeching halt (and unfortunately I’ve heard a lot of people express this attitude).
However, progress has already been made. There is a African-American and a woman running for the nomination of U.S. president. And either one of them has a good chance against McCain.
It’s with this I say Massive Barack, not Massive Attack.

Have Massive Attack been paying attention to the size of the crowds that have been going to see Obama on the campaign trail? The siae of the audiences gonig to hear Obama speak beat those of Clinton and McCain COMBINED. Negativism like that expressed by Massive Attack isn’t going to change anything. It just encourages deafeatism.
Who are these people with “real power”? The last time I checked, Obama was still running for President.

these dudes are suffering a massive attack of stupidity. as curley notes, obama is still in the race and in fact, barring some left field bullshit, will be the democratic nominee, which puts him in excellent position to be the president in ‘09. i doubt the obama’s will be playing any massive attack at the inauguration ball but you never know.

There is an African-American woman Secretary of State, who succeeded an Jamaican-American man. There is an African-American in the Supreme court and not to long ago, two women. We had a Hispanic Attorney General. I think we have already seen the promised land!
