WORST SONGS EVER: “I Touch Myself” – Divinyls
I Touch Myself may be the worst song ever… no wait, that would definitely be Jefferson Starship’s We Built This City. But it’s damn close. And over the years it has become the karaoke song of choice for many laughs. It also has a life of it’s own in comedy. The other day — in a five minute cable channel surf — I came across two comedies using the song as a hilarious punchline.
It’s too bad. Divinyls vocalist, Christine Amphlett, is a quality rock singer, and unfortunately she will always be known for this goofy single.

I totally disagree. I love this song! It’s kind of cheesy, granted, but Chrissie Amphlett made it work. It’s actually one of my favorite songs from the early 1990s.
